NYC as Muse — and the Wallets It Sparked
New York isn’t just where I live — it’s how I think. There’s an energy here that pushes you to create, and it shows up in every collection I launch.
Architecture
There’s something about the clean, timeless lines of the Flatiron Building that gets me every time. That balance of structure and elegance inspired the shape and silhouette of one of my original zip wallets — classic but with personality.
Fall in Central Park
The vibrant golds, reds, and deep browns of the trees are unreal. I built our Marigold and Rust colorways after one walk through the park in October. It’s warm, cozy, and a little dramatic — just like New York in the fall.
Everyday Movement
I walk everywhere here. Running to the subway, grabbing coffee, catching up with friends between meetings — it’s nonstop. That rhythm inspired me to make wallets that are light, functional, and can move with you, whether you’re heading downtown or hopping on a flight.
Inspired by Women Who Create
My mom, Tori Johnson, is a huge source of inspiration. She’s an author, businesswoman, and someone who always encouraged me to take creative risks — even when I had no clue what I was doing. Watching her build something from scratch gave me the confidence to do the same.
I’m also constantly inspired by the women around me — friends who’ve launched beauty brands, food startups, vintage resale shops. Seeing their ideas come to life, watching them handle shipping chaos and branding decisions and pop-ups with grace? It reminds me why I started and why I keep going.
We all share the same values: color, accessibility, and personality. We make things that are fun but functional, with real people in mind.
